Went to the Zoo yesterday to do some more sketching from life.

Then went to Eagle Heights today for their Husky Mania, to draw all the various furballs and also got alot of photo ref.

At the brit museum as per normal, this time focusing my effort on just figuring out proportions and form on the face of a sculpture. About 40 odd minutes perhaps? Still need loads of work.

It's life drawing day today. After a few 2 and 5 minute warmups, we proceeded to do two 40min long drawings, with a focus on developing our skills to get proper proportion. I still have a *long* way to go lol ;-)

Love the challenge though ;-)

Aieee! Too tired from this hectic weekend and forgot to post (see my work/photo blog) but I did do my sketch-a-day practice :)

Starting on form studies now. I think for tonight I will try to put in an effort for gesture as well, at least a quick one.

The friday drawing jaunt at the british museum. Apart from these gesture studies, also spent a little time playing with using ellipses to draw the form - fun but my results are crap.

Got a year's pass to the zoo today, and spent the afternoon trying to have a go with gestures with the critters. Here's a few of the "better" ones :D

Forgot to upload again >.<

First up, two gesture studies from the brit museum. Roughed in the gesture using my new Rotring 2mm clutch pencil (which I like the feel) followed by attempting to get some form in, this time switching over to a 3mm 7B clutch

Today's was trying to understand why Ken Hultgren chooses action lines as those he chooses, I basically tried to do the gesture using what I can feel, then drew Ken's action lines over mine to try to understand the difference.
